Hello,

Inserting an h in front of words where it does not really belong is a
well-known fact in many Flemish (both h-retaining and and
non-h-retaining) dialects. The phenomenon is called "hypercorrection".
People are aware that the h is (sometimes/normally) dropped in words
beginning with h and they are equally aware that this is not correct. As
a result they erroneously add an h to particular words, in a
subconscious attempt to avoid a similar mistake. I can cite the example
of "oven" (the same word as in English) in East-Brabant dialects,
pronounced as "houven" [Èhöuv«]. The last word was written  with the
symbols of the International Phonetic Association. I wonder how it will
appear on your screen.

It can only do so if you write it in Unicode UTF-8 encoding mode with a
UTF-8-compatible font.  Your message arrived in Western European (ISO) mode,
and it got distorted when I switched it to Unicode UTF-8 mode.
