Was that supposed to be 'mice', not 'to mash'?  :-)

'Mice' would be (superlength) [my:.z] _müys'_ (or _muys'_ according to
Henry's suggestion), in related dialects still the original ['my:ze] _müyse_
(~ _muyse_), versus singular _muus_ [mu:s].

Cf. Old English _mûs_ *[mu:s] vs _mys_ *[my:s] (which would be written
_muus_ vs _müys_ ~ _muys_ in ANS); cf. Modern Scots _moose_ vs _mice_.
