Dreaming and thinking in another language - that's completely alien to me.
Except in those instances of "hightened consciousness" I would call it ( you
know, when there's thoughts reverberating in your head) I don't think (or
dream) in any language. I've heard many people say: "I know I was getting on
alright, when I started thinking / dreaming in <language."
I suppose I dream and think in images more than anything.

I do, however, know the effect of another language intruding on the learning
of a new language. With me, that's very definitely the last learned language
that intrudes. When learning Welsh it was Norwegian, now it is Welsh
intruding on learning Gaelic. Very irritating!

This might be stretching the Lowlandic link, but does the recent
