Something else; I b'lieve you're right about the "G-d stap my vitals if I
don't!" school of English, & that 'ain't' has drifted downmarket. Am I
correct in my impression that the old 'RP' dialect is an Academic
affectation imposed on or rather assumed, by the upwardly mobile classes, &
that the old aristocrats had no truck with it, Damme if they did! ?
