Hi, Gavin,

as our Holger Weigelt pointed out some weeks ago (I quote from my mind):
> LS is more a sum of expressions than of sharp words.

Have a look, for example, to the word LS: 'tou', G: 'zu', E: 'to'.
For a non-native speaker I guess it very hard to find out the special
meaning in the various contextes we like to use it in:

tou 1. zu (E: to)
2. damals (Abk. f. "toumols") (E: at that time)
3. kaputt, fertig (E: burned out)
4. allgem.: zur Bekräftig. einer Aussage (like E: too [much])

toumol auf einmal (da, in diesem Moment) (E: at this moment)

Interesting too: 'toumôls' is stressed on the first syllable, 'toumôl' on
the second one.

As I mentioned formerly: our LS is a language to be spoken and not so much
to be written.

Greutens/Regards

Johannes "Jonny" Meibohm
