Dag almal,

Theo, in Afrikaans noem ons die tyd na die huweliksbevestiging ook 
'Wittebrood",
maar sonder die 'weke'.

"Wittebrood" beteken huidiglik die vakansie tydperk na die 
huweliksbevestiging.

My ouers is in 1950 getroud, en toentertyd was die betekenis nog die 
salig-romantiese
tydperk na die troue. Ek is 10 maande na my ouers se huweliksdatum gebore, 
'n
'wittebrood baba', dus.
