Here are several resource tips for you.

(1)
For those of you interested in Lowlands Emigration history there is a list
of passengers of ships from Hamburg, Germany, to East London, South Africa,
in the 19th century:

Those of you in the greater Seattle area may appreciate knowing (as I found
out on-site this morning) that Seattle Central Community College
(http://seattlecentral.edu/) is offering a summer intensive introductory
Dutch course:
(6620) Beginning Dutch: 8 sessions, starts June 28, Tuesdays 7:00P-9:30P,
