Reinhard, speaking about a press release: I just sent a message to Drentse
Taol (Drenthe), de IJsselacademie (Overijssel/Salland)/Veluwe) and het
Staring-Instituut (Achterhoek)about the A-site. I asked them to put a link
to our A-site on their own website, and to ask their readers for more Wren
translations at the same time.

Well, I never was an "official" member of it but do I deserve a place in
the Project Team under support/facilitation now, or not?  ;-)

Some time ago I sent out an appeal for people working on press/media
releases about the anniversary and the site.  Elsie and Mathieu volunteered
and recently produced an Afrikaans and a Dutch release. Slacker that I am, I
am lagging behind with my English and German versions.  These are not actual
translations but are specifically composed for the respective target groups,
emphasizing what is most important to each group.  (My English and German
versions will be quite different from each other, and I might consult my
trusted brother in crime Jonny about the German one.)  We may still tweak a
couple of things in the Afrikaans and Dutch versions.  Mathieu has already
sent out the Dutch one to a number of places, and I could tell by the sudden
subscription "tsunami" today (yeah, sure! As if!).  When the releases are
all done we will post them at the anniversary site from which any of you can
copy and/or sent them.  It would be best to stick with "approved" standard
tests.  So, hold your horses and wait till they are available.  And then you
can knock yourself out, and we'll love you all the more for it.  If anyone
feels like helping, by all means contact us.

Of course you do, budz, and you are!  What would we do without you?
Abundant electronic "aai-ing" will ensue later.

As for the Standard Dutch recording, have you started working your legendary
beguiling powers on Barbara yet?  Do we have alternative/additional
volunteers (bearing in mind that we can have more than one recording for
each translation)?  As I said before, it would be great if we had at least
one speaker from the Netherlands and one from Belgium for the Standard Dutch
version.  If you have local "accents," that's great too, would be of
interest.  By the way, this applies to the Standard German version as well.
Jonny has a North German "accent," though not a very strong one.  To
juxtapose the Northern "accent," it would be wonderful to have recordings of
the same or similar text by German speakers from other parts of Germany,
also German speakers from Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Denmark,
Poland, etc., or "just" from other parts of Northern Germany.
