Wimme, wieme, wim, wiem, wiemel etc. are all forms of the same word in
Dutch Low Saxon dialects, denoting the place where smoked bacon is hung at
the ceiling in farm kitchens. Known in all LS areas, Achterhoek (Gelder-
land), Salland, Twente (Overijssel), Drenthe, Stellingwarven (Friesland)
and Groningen.
