Hi Jonny,

To my knowledge, "Amerikaner" only refers to US, not to Canada in German.
And
all south of USA are called "Lateinamerikaner". It is not really correct,
but
that is the usual use.

Language is irrational. Besides: I do not like the pressure from others to
change language. I still call a screwdriver "Schraubenzieher" and not
"Schraubendreher". And to the usual attack "aber du ziehst damit keine
Schrauben, sondern drehst sie rein", I answer "und du, ziehst du deine
Schrauben fest oder drehst du sie fest". (One other of these nonsense
"neologisms": the official name for income tax is "Einkommensteuer" and not
the usual "Einkommensteuer". I just cannot get used to it. It sounds as
wrong
to me as "Orangesaft" or "Weihnachtbaum" or "Weihnachtmann".)

The more I know about Evolution, the less I believe it. Just recently I
watched a nice DVD about the origin of the layerings of sediments. Since
then
I find it much, much more plausible to think that they had their origin in
the Great Flood. In other words: to me believing into evolution would
require
a lot more faith from my side than just to believe in creation.

Heiko
