Subject: LL-L Travel, was Delectables

Hi all,

Talking about expanding one's horizons; I've seen San Antonio, TX from the
passenger seat of a longhaul truck but will be visiting the city during
November
with an Elderhostel program.

Any tips on unusual places to visit outside the usual touristy loop?

Regards,
Elsie Zinsser

Hi, Elsie!

That sounds like fun. San Antonio is interesting, with some neat historic
sites, promenades and bodegas.

Talking about stereotypes, though ... It's called "Fat City" by many people,
and in the US this is saying something.

Any chance of you flitting across to Mexico for a day or two, to Piedras
Negra, Nuevo Laredo and/or Monterrey? If so, see what you'd need in terms
of visas, just in case.

Have fun!
Reinhard/Ron
