I found a file called "Sassysch" in the index of anniversary sound, in
Middle Low Saxon, on rhyme. Very nice, just like the Middle English
versions of the wren... ;-)

But I'm still missing several sound files, or better put: a lot of them,
and I'm sure we're all very curious how certain varieties would sound.
I myself, for instance, am dying to hear the Garieb Afrikaans version,
and the Twente one of Henry, and the Ogeveine one of Arend Victorie...

  The latest addition is my Middle Saxon ("Middle Low German") version, in 
verse form, in the Lübeck-dialect-based language of the 15th century, as it 
was widely spread through international Hanseatic trading.  I based it 
almost entirely on the language used in the work _Reynke de vos_, the Middle 
Saxon version of the tale about Reynard the Fox (my naughty namesake).

  Those of you who know Dutch and/or Afrikaans, especially those that are 
familiar with Flemish, Zeelandic and/or Brabantish, particularly older 
Dutch, Zeelandic, Flemish and/or Brabantish, will find the text pretty easy 
to understand even without any help.  Yes, all these varieties used to be 
really closely related and for the most part mutually comprehensible.  To a 
certain, though lesser, degree, this applies also to those familiar with 
Middle English and/or Old or Middle Scots.  You might like to compare it

Indeed i loved to listen to the 'Sassysch' and 'Middle  English' versions of 
the story.  And all sounded very familiar and comprehensible  with my 
present  language.  I  almost feel some regrets that  the languages  did 
lose a lot of their  close relationship. But then again, diversity is 
beatifull also .

Thanks, Ingmar and Luc!

I'm not yet happy with the sound files for the two mentioned translations of 
mine, will redo them as soon as I can (when my fall allergies go away).  The 
Middle English one does not yet conform with a few edits I've made in the 
meantime, and my Irish English personality had the audacity to interfere at 
one point (with a couple of falling diphthongs).

And there's always Mike Szelog's splendid Middle English verse version.

Ingmar, hopefully our Henry will be soon in a position to do his remaining 
part regarding sound files.  If not, we'll come up with plan B or C.
