It's Easter Sunday, and for the first time in almost 30 years, I can see an
Easter fire burning... a huge bonfire built on the top of a hill - each
village has its own. We can see ours from my daughter's bedroom, which is a
good thing because I wouldn't be able to walk up the hill yet following my
surgery, but my husband and my youngest daughter have gone to watch, it's
the first time for both. This is an ancient Northern German tradition,
possibly restricted to Lower Saxony, I'm not sure about that.

Happy Easter to everybody,
Gabriele Kahn
