In Edinburgh during my childhood when a kid pulled a face...

Pulled a face? Tom, Ron and all, what on earth does it mean to "pull a
face"? I've heard my grandmother when I was a lad say that she was "Putting
her face on" when she was primping and femalizing with perfume and the like.
(female-izing). I have never heard any mention of pulling a face.

Sorry, Ben. It's the same as "making a face." See, contacts with all them
Yurpeens sometimes makes me revert to pre-rebirth modes of speaking, and
there's no telling what I'll say then.

I just know you will bear the cross.

Not too long ago I mentioned that someone probably "got a box on the ear."
This provoked much amusement and mental pictures of people wearing boxes on
their ears, when in reality facial slapping is supposed to be denoted.

Cheerio, old fella!
