Maybe you think so because you actually have American reactions in mind. In
relation to that mindset, "Teutonic" may not immediately trigger very "roman"tic
images; perhaps because "Teutonic" makes up for such a large part of the cultural
heritage already?

On the other hand, I remember very well how anything referring to Germany, both
in China and Japan was very often viewed as almost "extraterrestrial",
"extraordinary", out of this/their world.
