To whom it may concern,

I am a Canadian based producer currently completing a documentary series on the
history of language. The series looks at language from prehistory time to the
present day. I’ve found some audio files on your web site that I would like to
possibly use as background sound in a very short sequences in the series. I will
of course give you a credit for doing so.

Please let me know if you have any objections. I have attached a brief outline of
the project for your interest. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,

Christene Browne

Dear Ms. Browne,

Thank you for sending me your request. Your project sounds absolutely thrilling
to me and undoubtedly would be of great interest to the international membership
of Lowlands-L (lowlands-l.net).

I assume you are referring to our anniversary presentation
(www.lowlands-l.net/anniversary/).

Once I know a little more about your project and have no quarrel with its premise
and message I will gladly give you permission to use my own narration audio
files. For the use of other sound files you would need permission from the
individual translators and narrators besides that from Lowlands-L. I would be
happy to arrange that for you once you pinpoint the files in which you are
interested. You can find the names of the translators and narrators on the
respective pages.

The best and fastest way of identifying sound files is to use the index page
(http://www.lowlands-l.net/anniversary/contents.php\) and to look for the pages
with the audio file symbol.

I would be very happy to take a look at your outline, and we can take it from there.

By the way, I have higher quality audio file originals from which we developed
the scaled-down web versions. I'd be happy to send you copies of the originals,
given permission.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

All the best with your project! I hope you will inform us of its release when
the time comes.

Friendly regards,
Reinhard "Ron" F. Hahn

Dear Ms. Browne,

I am sorry I missed the fact that you had already attached the synopsis. I beg
your pardon.

I have read it and feel very excited about the project.

Since I am assuming at this point that the synopsis is privileged information, I
will not pass it on to our membership at large but would pass it on to
individuals for whose permission we ask. Would that be agreeable to you?

Personally, I offer to help with linguistic information should you require it.

I am somewhat familiar with your documentary work and have also watched your film
"Another Planet," all of which I enjoyed. I congratulate you on your work and am
greatly impressed by your contributions, including your helping to create a path
for North American film makers of African descent.

Regards,
Reinhard "Ron" F. Hahn
