Beste Reinhard,

Ek sal maar kies vir die _wagtail_ vir die teks Engelse Suid-Afrikaners. 
_Wagtail_, of _kwikkie_; dis vir die mense in Port Elizabeth dalk om 't ewe, 
maar die tweede opsie kan sinlike konnotasies hê!

Jy het geskryf:

Ja, ek het dit al raakgesien. Ek het gedink: "is dit dalk nie 'politically 
incorrect' nie?" Maar ek sal die laaste persoon wees om teenkanting teen 
sulke woorde te toon. Dit het alles te make met jou voorouers, met 'n 
gemeenskaplike kultuur, gemeenskaplike afkoms, gemeenskaplike toekoms en 'n 
gemeenskaplike taal. In Nederland is dit deesdae 'n alte verpolitiseerde 
kwessie indien jy sê jy is outochtoon of allochtoon. Wel, 'tough tackie'.
