Beste Ingmar,

you had been lost for a couple of weeks!

Regarding _kn_ >> _gn_ >> [_n_]:
in German and Northern-German LS we have G 'nagen' and LS 'gnagen', both meaning
E: 'to gnaw'. Maybe it's related to G 'knacken' (E: 'to crack').

Other exampels: LS 'gnurpsen' >> G 'knirschen' (E: to crunch); LS 'gnetern' >> G
'knistern ('knattern'??)' (E: to crackle), and there are more of this type...

So- the way and development could have been reverse?
