En in Afrikaans het 'braaf' 'n betekenisverandering ondergaan, en
beteken 'heldhaftig' eerder as 'gehoorsaam'.

Jy het hierbo geskryf:

Is dit 'n betekenisverandering, of het Afrikaans die vroeëre betekenis behou? 
Die woord het van Oufraans gekom (maar blykbaar het Fraans dit van 'n andere taal
gekry), en die oorspronklike betekenis is "dapper", "valiant", "gallant" ens. ...
 Die betekenis "optree volgens voorgeskrewe standaard" ontwikkel blykbaar later.

Die vrae: het Afrikaans nie deelgeneem in die latere wissel nie, of het dit later
die betekenis weer beperk ("teruggefokus" tot die oorspronk), moontlik onder die
invloed van Fraans-talige immigrante of onder die Engels invloed?

Om 'n leidraad te kry moet ons weet of _braaf_ in Nederlands van die 17de eeu die
betekenisverandering alreeds het ondergaan.
