 We have national holiday in Belgium this Saturday. I have no idea what we
are remembering. Quite some services take an other day as paid holiday
instead. Below the message from the US Embassy in Brussels, with
additionally some general travel info.

This Warden Message is being issued to remind U.S. Citizens traveling to and
residing in Belgium that the embassy will be closed on Monday, July 23,
2007, in observance of the Belgian National Day (July 21). Normal operations
will resume on Tuesday, July 24th.
The consular section also wishes to inform U.S. Citizens traveling to and
residing in Belgium of a recent change in its hours of operations for all US
passport services and birth registration, as follows:
Birth registration: by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays (see
telephone numbers below);
US passports:
Walk in: Monday through Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Friday
from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Telephone inquiries: Between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.: (+32) (0)2 508 2196,
508 2378, 508 2382.
For the latest security information, Americans living and traveling abroad
should regularly monitor the Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs
Internet web site at http://travel.state.gov, where the current Worldwide
Caution, Public Announcements, and Travel Warnings can be found. Up-to-date
information on security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll
free in the U.S., or, for callers outside the U.S. and Canada, a regular
