Oh, I am completely with Your Ruth on that one!! When people take that long
to tell a story, it had better be a good one.

All of this, plus the impending visit of Her Majesty the Queen of Canada to
Kentucky for this year's Derby, reminds me of the Kentucky horselover who
owned the most beautiful steed in the entire state. He paraded it at every
local and county fair as well as the State Fair, at which it won every
prize for beauty. And the secret of its great beauty was its long flowing
mane.

However, one day some wrens (much like our Lowlands ones) decided to build
their nest in this mane, and by so doing destroyed the animal's
attractiveness.

The poor owner took the horse from vet to vet to try to rid his beast of
this scourge, but, alas, to no avail. That is until one day an old crone
(speaking the most proper lowlands Appalachian dialect) advised him to just
add some yeast to the mane and see what happened.

Well, much to everyone's surprise, the wrens immediately packed their
little bags and took off (back to the garage?), which is why it is said
that:

Yeast is yeast, and nest is nest, and ne'er the mane shall tweet.
