Kia ora!

Just a few Maori versions of foreign names I've picked up. Hori is the
Maori
form of George. It has another meaning, that of a contemptuous
generalization and put-down of Maori.

Clinersterton beademung, with all of love - RIP James Blish
-----
Gaul is quartered into three halves. Things which are

warfare means up to their monkey tricks.

Mau e ki, he aha te mea nui?
You ask, what is the most important thing?
Maku e ki, he tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
I reply, it is people, it is people, it is people.

And Kia ora to you, too, Wesley!

Note many differences due to the English source varieties being non-rhotic
(Maori) and rhotic (Hawaiian).

I've integrated your additions into my table, Wesley. You find it below.

Those of you who can't see tables in their mail programs can go to our web
archive (listserv.linguistlist.org/archives/lowlands-l.html, or
tinyurl.com/34hsrj), bring up the corresponding issue, scroll to the bottom
of the page, click on the toggle link [text/html] and, if you haven't set it
as default, switch your character encoding mode (probably under View) to
Unicode (UTF-8). Some mail programs allow you to do the same; so in that
case you don't have to go to the archive. What I'm talking about here
applies to anything specially formatted, such as tables, bulleted and
numbered lists, use of different colors and fonts, "special" characters ...

Regards,
Reinhard/Ron
