I was thinking recently maybe I could make a recording to film, then I
could play it back and have some confidence about what I'd actually
recorded, even if I couldn't hear it. I have the camcorder, the only
obstacle is that I'd have to memorise the story so that you can't see me
trying to read from some sort of makeshift autocue :)

I would like to be able to write more Scots on the List but there just
doesn't seem to be anyone interested in replying like there used to be!

Well, Sandy, No one can accuse you of not trying.

If you make a recording, surely there ought to be somebody on the List that
would take a look/listen at/to it, and surely someone else can come up with
translations and recordings as well.

I happen to know that we have quite a few people in and from Scotland on the
List. Even if none of them knew Scots (which I very much doubt) they could
come up with a Scottish English recording, and surely they know people that
do speak Scots. Furthermore, if they didn't want to sign their names to it
they could avail themselves of the anonymity option that all contributors
have.

Also, just going by the comments that come with many of the subscription
applications, I know that there is a lot of interest in Scots on the List.
It's only that most of those people haven't joined us in the speakers'
corner. And then again, playing to a silent audience ain't exactly fun, is
it? Don't give up! The audience keeps changing.

Regards,
Reinhard/Ron

P.S.: And I forgot to mention "*any* African language" in connection with
the top of the wish list.
