From: R. F. Hahn <sassisch at yahoo.com>
Subject: Projects

Dear Lowlanders,

As the 14th year of Lowlands-l is approaching its mid-point it is time to
send out another rallying cry to keep our on-line presentations growing.

The number of visits to our Anniversary project (
http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/) keeps growing in leaps and bounds, many
of them being repeat visits. Some visitors return *many* times and seem to
be following the development. It is our oldest presentation, is being linked
to from several other sites, and word about it seems to be spreading. Once
in a while you can see that several people visited a specific page (a
translation and/or language introduction) around the same time, which seems
to indicate that someone made a group aware of it. People seem to be
enjoying it and seem to be learning from it.

I just added another guest contributor feature to it:
http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/feature_gerd.php

There are now 243 translations. Surely, by the time of our next anniversary
(April-May 2009) we can go to 250 and beyond! Theoretically, *each* of you
could contribute at least one version of the story, since all of you and
people you know speak and write unique language varieties, and more than one
written and/or narrated version per variety (or what is perceived as one
variety) is quite welcome.

Our other presentations are not yet as well established and known, and they
need a more solid base each. You can tell that much depends on how long a
presentation has been around and how much material it offers. The Travel
presentation (http://lowlands-l.net/travels/) has been around longest among
them and receives more visits than do the others at this point in time.

So, Lowlanders, please consider writing some stuff to add to them. Sound and
video files would be very much welcome as well.
