What is it about the English language that it irregularly uses the feminine
construction, 'tapster', pollster, 'gangster' & this little gem to all the
devotees of the lowest form of wit, the 'punster'?



Just a tad further off the beaten track, in the Olden Days a tract from the
South African Agricultural Library circulated a very thorough tract on the
use of DDT, I think, for poison control of the swarming locust in its
juvenile stage, as we call them, 'voetgangers'. The earnest translator
Englished *that* into 'How to Poison Pedestrians.' Oh, beware, beware the
bilingual dictionary!
