Beste Lowlanders,

Er bestaat inderdaad een Nederlands Verklarend Woordenboek van Koenen -
Endepols.

Dit doet er mij aan denken dat ook de familienamen Brepoels en Brepols in
Vlaanderen/Nederland voorkomen.

Remember that there's a large seaside town or city called Poole adjacent
to Bournemouth in Dorset, England. Accordingly, the surname
"Poole" (with the exact same spelling) is quite often encountered in
England.

It seems to me that "Swanson" is a fairly common surname in Scotland -
at least there are quite a few Swansons in my village though of course
it's all one family. I don't know the derivation though.
