in *LL-L "Etymology" 2007.06.14 (03) [E]*  I wrote:

Ha, Marcel - and you had been on the right way!

Yesterday evening a neighbour told me, he had found out the meaning of *
_Tilljak_.* It denotes a very special constellation of land parcels. In
particular: if these parcels, caused by any feature of the landscape,
are running together at one edge or angle - *'till' they reach one common
goal!!* -this occurence is called 'Tilljak'.

So - 'till' seems to be very clear, but 'jak' still remaining in dark. But I
have a guessing: in German forests the smallest parcels are called 'Jagen',
and this one could fit into the 'Tilljak'-construction very well.

My neighbour even came up with another word which seems to be related (in
meaning, not in etymological aspects): *_Tirrtarr_. *It denotes something
very similar, but not in the landscape, but in furniture. In the process
during producing a cane chair this 'Tirrtarr' describes the run of the
threads in the edges/angles of the seat.

Just a moment- why not related etymologically? Just substitute _rr_ by _ll_,
and there we are: *'Tilltall'*!!! Again 'till', but what is 'tall'???
Perhaps a kind of wordplay as in *'Wirrwarr'* (confusion),
*'wischiwaschi'*(indefinate), '
*larifari'* (airy-fairy, ha!!) or in *'pillepalle'* (unimportant,
forgettable)...
