Hello Mike and Ron,



I know of brothers, one living in western Germany, the other in the DDR, who
regularly met in a quite relaxed way during camping holidays in Poland.
Well, they were both elderly. And a friend of mine, a Hungarian, left his
country in the early 1980s with a group of hobby alpinists that got their
visa to climb some swiss mountains and then return. He did not return, the
others did. In fact, my friend had joined the alpinists with the only view
of leaving Hungary forever :-) He didn't care a straw about mountains. --
Very probably that alpinist club never got any foreign visa again. They must
have loved him...



I think Hanne could tell us a lot about this.
