My father was a compositor, typesetter, all his working life and worked for
the Edinburgh printing firm that produced Shaw's works at the time.



He reckoned that Shaw was one of the most atrocious spellers among author
clients. Said authors when visiting the works used to leave gifts of beer
money for the lads who got their books out, Shaw, that dedicated Socialist
and champion of Workers' Rights never gifted a farthing. By their
works.........
