Some centuries ago NDS "Lobbes" was something like EN "clumsy fellow".

NDS "Lobbe" was another word for EN "lip". NDS "Dikke Lobben" = EN "fat
lips".

NDS "Lobbe / Lubbe" was a "toby collar": "Een Krage groot als een temlyk
Wagenrad, dar de hochwyse Kop recht midden inne sat."

NDS "enen Lobben lopen laten" = EN "to play a dirty trick".
