Subject: sound changes

Dear language lovers

I understand that here has been a discussion on certain consonant chanches.

It was difficult to understand why there has been a sound change from s to
r.

Maybe Verner's law can be helpful to solve this problem

Like Grimm's law , Verner's law explanes consonant changes which took place

at an early stage of Germanic. It boils down to this:

If the proceeding vowel did not , at that time, carry the main stress of the
word, certain consonants changed.

This implies that for example s became z which later developed to r

example; ċēosan > curon = choose (kiezen / keuren)
