zelfs het figuurlijk gebruik. In *Klöntrups* *Niederdeutsch-Westphälisches
Wörterbuch:
*
*glöunig*: glühend roth;* en glöunige Voß* ein Mensch, der rothe Haare hat;
*glöunig* heißt aber als ein blosses Vergrösserung Wort auch wohl: heftig;
so sagt man sogar *et is glöunige kault* die Kälte ist empfindlich.

Vgl. ook *gloutnigge* glutneu. Het werkwoord is *glöggen:* glühen, glühend
machen. *geglöggeden/glöggeden Win:* Glühwein.
