Dear Lowlanders,

Earlier today Hanne shared the Low Saxon verb *rallögen* with us. Its basic
meaning is 'to roll ones eyes'. It consists of *rall-* 'to roll' and -*öög-
< Oog'* 'eye', thus literally "to roll-eye". It's somewhat like the English
verbs 'to elbow' or 'to shoulder,' except that its first element is
verb-derived. Typically, such verbs use as a second verbal element that is
derived from a noun, typically denoting a body part.

Oog'* 'head')
*nickköppen ~ nickkoppen* 'to nod' (*nick-* 'nod', *Kopp* 'head')
