Leslie:

Yes, I'm in Central Texas, but I grew up in Dallas. Both sets of my
grandparents lived all their lives in Tennessee. They never lived in Texas,
so I associate it with Tennessee. But, I could have heard it in Texas.

Regards,

Mark Brooks

I’ve lived in Houston area most of my life, but my ancestors weren’t from
Texas at all. Therefore no grandfather to associate the verb with!

Subject: Wart (Wart als Verb in English?)

Hallo Lowlanders,

in "Oxford Dictionary of Synonyms and Antonyms"
künn ick nicks find'n.

Ick kann blots dit anbeiden:

Hast du eine *Warze* an deinem Finger?
Do you have a *wart* on your finger?
Hest du 'ne *Wratt *an dien'n Finger?

Nu bün ick bannig niegelig, wat dor bi rutsuurt.

*Wratt*, Pl. *Wratten *f. Warze;
*se hadd' sonne ganz lange Näs' mit ne Wratt up*,

*de Koh hett grot Wratten up 'n Üter.*Magische Behandlung der *Wratten, *
erfolgt
in vielfältiger Weise. Man schneidet so viele Kerben,
wie man Warzen hat, in einen Weidenstock
und wirft diesen über das Dach.

Lit.: Wossidlo/Teuchert.

Best Gräuten.

Hanne Hinz
