Dear Samantha

Some of the Bird apps are in Ionic, and we are developing a language
teaching app in Ionic based on Ben Foley’s work. The old Dharug app was on
apple store and google play but is being replaced

The Ionic framework is better supported than the Jila system, so would be
good to share this idea with language groups. What we have been funded to do
is provide a system that other languages with similar resources can use. We
are basing it on Toolbox export, Audio files iwht transcription, any example
sentences (from toolbox) and images selected by community

At present the material is shown on a website Dharug.d
<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/5vYEBwtnvMdkTd?domain=dalang.com.au> https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/gn98BxSKp3OzUM, https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/oDLrBgcvwL42tQ,

Also Wiradjuri (central NSW)

Gamilaroi (central north NSW)

And a whole group by Cheyne Halloran (down left hand side

Nyoongar (south west WA)

And a different app

Kind regards

Hi – looks like you’re the one compiling the list!

Here is an article about the Getting in Touch project

Here is a PDF of some slides from a talk last year

And some info on our website about books with apps

These are built on the Jila framework, which was developed by Thoughtworks
for Yawuru

Subject: [RNLD] List or review of language apps

Hi there
Has anyone compiled a list or review of language apps in use for Australian
All responses appreciated and will be passed on to a Central Australian
group keen to get an overview of what’s out there and effective for
languages teaching and learning – for ages 3-adult.
