Dear Doug,

This seems like "aksorn kham" or "tua kham" as Ron Meyers suggested. Yuu
can translate by comparison to "The Northern Thai Dictionary of Palm-leaf
Manuscript", by Arunrat Wichiankiao et. al., Suriwongse Bookcenter
(¾¨¹Ò¹Ø¡ÃÁÈѾ·ìÅéÒ¹¹Ò ੾ÒФӷÕè»ÃÒ¡®ã¹ãºÅÒ¹ â´Â ÍÃسÃѵ¹ì ÇÔàªÕÂÃà¢ÕÂÇ
áÅФ³Ð ¨Ñ´¾ÔÁ¾ìã¹ÇâáÒÊà©ÅÔÁ©Åͧ ÷ðð »Õ
àÁ×ͧàªÕ§ãËÁè ¾È òõóù).

As for the name, 'ngao' is not a name I'd give to my children or any
relatives. Maybe Shadow relates to the famous 'Phoenix' family with the
likes of, River, Summer, etc.

Regards,
Puangroi
