Thai on modern Mac

Help!

Does anyone know of scripts that work for using Thai on a modern Mac?
The old system 7 stuff worked fine, but I am now looking for stuff
that will work with:
MacOS 8.6, 9.0.4, and (soon) OS X.
Any suggestions? Anything being developed a la unicode?
