OUR STRIKE IS OVER

Hallo, Seelangers!

I do not know whether you recall or not but the Faculty Association at our
university was on strike from 18 October 1995.  Today we are back at work for
the first time, and after three weeks and two days of strike we finally won.
We have a new collective agreement and it looks that the situation for Slavic
Studies may not be that bad after all, since it is not the administration that
would decide about the downsizing (due to financial problems), but a group
which would consist of faculty members, students, public at large and
administrators.  Hurray!
P.S.  Younger faculty, including myself, even got a raise.  Hurray once again.
