The Institute of Russian and East European Studies is offering for
world-wide competition up to four studentships for the academic year
1998-99 which will pay the University fees for the one-year course of
full-time study for the postgraduate degree of M.Phil in Russian and East
European Studies. Successful candidates will be required to commence their
study at the Institute in Glasgow in October 1998.

Applicants should have a good undergraduate degree or an equivalent
qualification in a social science subject. The M.Phil consists of three
taught courses and a dissertation, plus a language test. Language tuition
is provided.

8RT. Applicants for admission to the M.Phil who wish to be considered for
the competition should indicate this in the 'Funding' section of the
application form. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 March 1998.
