Cyrillic fonts with MS Office97

Dear colleagues:
I just replaced my old trusty MSWord 6.0 with Word97. As a result, I can no
longer use any of my Russian fonts, except Vremya. Even with this seemingly
functional font, Word97 breaks up words at the end of lines at will so that
"papa" can come up as "p" on one line and "apa" on the next. Any advice?
