COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY.  Entry level position (assistant professor) in
Russian literature and culture, preferably nineteenth and early twentieth
centuries. Appointment begins academic year 1999-2000.  Ph.D. must be in
hand.  Near native or native command of English and Russian required.
Application should include cv, three to five confidential letters of
recommendation sent directly to the search committee, a statement of
research interests and career goals, and a substantive writing sample.
