Cyrillic in WP 9

Dear Seelangers,
        As part of a regular upgrade here I had Word Perfect 9 installed on my
computer (I have Windows 95).  With WP 8 my Russian fonts looked wonderful
and they blended perfectly with the Latin fonts.  Now, however, even in
fonts like Times New Roman the Russian looks bolder than the English and
stands out, making for a ugly mess when they are together on the page.  Has
anyone encountered this problem?  Any possible solutions?  I would
