It's right vs. That's right

I am a native English speaker responding to the question below.  "It's right" would be followed by an idea which is right.  For example: It's right to ask forgiveness when you are wrong.  "That's right" agrees with a previously stated idea which you are agreeing is right.  Example: "Does oil float on water?" "That's right."
