I swear by anything from Gale Research out of Detroit, but specifically,
they have a huge (2" thick each volume) set of "Acronyms, Initialisms,
and Abbreviations Dictionaries" that is out of print. However, if you
follow the very long URL below from zShops (reassemble it if you have
to), and look for the editor Ellen Crowley, you can pick them up for
very reasonable prices. Be prepared to pay through the nose for
postage, though -- each one weighs several pounds. This set (IIRC it's
six volumes) is the gold standard in paper acronym dictionaries, even
if it's a bit dated.
