Dear colleagues,
A quick correction to Professor Kobets's email: the 1963 translation was by
Ralph Parker. Kalb provided the introduction (he was also instrumental in
getting this work published in the US). The introduction, which I just
shared with my students as this edition is not readily available, provides
an intriguing glimpse into the period when this book came out, from the
perspective of a Russian-speaking American journalist then posted in
Moscow. It's worth noting re translations that the Willetts translation is
more complete and perhaps provides a better feel for the language of the
original.
Best wishes,
Judith Kalb
