This phenomenon becomes particularly amusing in the case of Slovak hockey
star Miroslav Satan. Mysteriously, announcers learned to pronounce his name
with the missing hacek. :-) I still can't see a fan wearing a replica
jersey getting a warm reception in the bible belt, however.
