creating pdf files with Russian language texts

I have used several packages over the years and I had the best results with
Fine Reader (http://www.finereader.com). If you go to the following page:
http://www.asu.edu/clas/reesc/asucomp and follow the link "Digitizing
Printed Resources", you will find the links to other packages (Cuneiform and
Recognita). They typically have try and buy versions so you can test them.
