To be consistent about this "ne ispytyvat' sud'bu" one should watch the
movie more closely. One will learn that the event described DID not take
place "at her friend's wedding", but when after Katya came from "roddom".
WHY?
Because there was no namegiving in advance. Childbirth was never viewed as a
"dangerous" event. On the contrary, "chtob ne sglazit'" was meant to prevent
anything bad that might happen to this important event.
