This Onegin thing

I pose the following question (more or less out of idle curiosity): why
is no one talking about Lacanian (vs. Freudian) approaches to the issues
that have been raised? Or about the respective merits of the ideas of
Lacan vs. Freud in literary analysis in general?

I know Lacan has perhaps even fewer adherents than Freud in Russian
literary studies, but I've generally found that his work can provide
significant insight (e.g., the concept of "the gaze," which would be
fruitful in the Onegin example). This, despite Lacan's all too
frequently opaque prose.
