Well, it is for a piece I am writing for a Russian journal, so it concerns
the translation into Russian of the title, which is itself meant to jar the
reader: "Vicarious Catastrophe."  It has to do with television viewing
practices--implicitly, watching a catastrophe on television as a vicarious
experience.

I appreciate that the simplest solution is to change the title, but other
suggestions would be welcome.
